Billing Specialist (Accounting & Finance)

Requirements:

  • S. Citizen
  • No felony convictions
  • Pass drug testing

Technical Skills:

  • Basic WKO computer systems
  • Ability to efficiently navigate and multi-task computer systems such as email and spreadsheets
  • WKO Microsoft Office
  • WKO invoice and billing processing
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
  • Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers or company associates over the phone and in person
  • Good team player, able to interact with other teams to ensure customer and business needs are met
  • Maintain professional appearance

Education:

  • HS or AAAS

Experience:

  • 2 years or AAAS

Competency Statement:

  • Will use spreadsheets and other standard office applications to record and process financial documentation related to vendors, clients, and internal customer accounts. May be responsible for generating business transaction records, such as invoices, and updating accounting databases and spreadsheets. May prepare and process electronic invoices, and receipts through software applications, or code and process payable invoices, expense reports, and credit card reconciliations. Be courteous, attentive, and ensure workspace is clean.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Constantly update job knowledge
  • Maintain inter-office mail/email
